Overview

At After the Rain Ministries, we believe that no one should have to pause their healing journey for lack of resources. Our Sponsorship Program connects generous sponsors with clients in counseling, funding each client’s full 16 week Counseling & Discipleship Program. Through prayerful discernment and faith, we evaluate sponsorship on a per-session basis. This means counselors review each client’s commitment weekly to decide if support continues. We ask clients to honor this opportunity with “great value, honor, and commitment” – treating their sponsorship as a sacred trust for themselves, their sponsor, and God.

Our mission is to uplift both clients and sponsors. Clients receive the help they need without financial burden. Sponsors experience the joy of partnership, seeing firsthand how God works through generosity. Together, we witness transformed lives and renewed hope.

How It Works

Weekly Counseling Sessions: Clients attend their scheduled session and diligently complete any assigned work each week. Counselors monitor this progress closely.
Counselor Evaluation: Each week, the counselor reviews the client’s dedication. The counselor then decides if sponsorship will be renewed for the next session. This ensures clients remain committed and use the opportunity wisely.
Ongoing Commitment: Clients must remain fully committed. If a client begins to show a lack of effort or misses assignments, the sponsorship may be paused or discontinued. This accountability helps everyone honor the opportunity.
Video Updates: To keep sponsors connected, clients create three short videos: an introductory video to invite potential sponsors, a thank-you video after a sponsor comes on board, and a final testimony video at program completion. These videos allow sponsors to see the impact of their gift and stay involved in the client’s journey.

Become a Sponsored Client

If you desire counseling but need financial help, our Sponsorship Program may be for you. We request that you be fully committed to your healing process. Here’s what we ask of sponsored clients:

Apply and Commit: Speak with the ATR Team about applying. Prepare a short video introducing yourself and your goals. This helps potential sponsors get to know you and pray about partnering with you.
Diligence in the Program: Attend every session and complete weekly assignments faithfully. Treat your sponsorship as a blessing, showing gratitude and respect to your sponsor and to God.
Video Updates: Once a sponsor supports you, record a thank-you video to express your gratitude. Finally, when you finish the program, share a testimony video about how the counseling impacted your life. These videos keep your sponsor informed and involved.
Stay Committed: Remember that each week’s support is earned by your commitment. If at any time you stop making progress or miss assignments, sponsorship may be discontinued. We encourage you to lean on your faith and community to stay strong in the process.
